Chris started with Arthur Anderson

Before that he started with his parents running a health food store in the 70's when there wasn't one on every block.

He was always told to learn accounting because you can do anything after that.

Then he went to private industry.

Got his MBA

Then decided it would be interesting to have his own business.

The idea of solving problems was what got him into software.

He started Spring Ahead for "QuickBooks Desktop Integrated time sheets" so you could get an invoice done.

In his previous company they would need equipment in the field for contractors to install it. They had to track this, and measure it to make sure they were profitable.

This was a very common problem.

So Spring Ahead and then Tally was born.

Spring Ahead was getting bigger - they wanted to.

But Chris' interest remained one of "solving problems"

Going to Liscio wasn't as scary as his previous pivot.

As he was leaving the company he worked for to start Spring Ahead he learned that his father who was living in Hawaii at the time had a daughter.

His dad passed away. Chris had no time to prepare. Flew her over here (California) and raised her.

He got a job as a CFO that paid very well.

Then he decided to "roll the dice and make something out of nothing."

The pressure was on.

He decided to make a bet, but it was an educated bet.

And when you are doing something with a purpose - you are driven that much more, to succeed.

My why when I started Nerd Enterprises? I hated the people I worked for. I needed to do something for myself.

So I carved out something that was based on all of the things I loved to do and none of the things I didn't.
